  1. It's so sad sometimes. What does the mohd. dude get out of this? Can people follow their own free will. If he was a true prophet, god would have told him let people follow what they like, dont force them and slaughter them. It's not like I'm partial to people who follow islam.

So does that mean Mohd. is a fake?

When Aardvark said Mohammed himself led attacks, then does that make anywhere above a human, does it even keep him at human level. I think not...

  2. If the iranian newspaper is doing something like that, then doesn't it prove their fanaticism.

BTW, is there any country that's a religious christian state?

Yah, the Sunni's and Shi'ites are from 2 diff. prophets. See my previous post for a general idea.

What's the holocaust(sorry if I caused any hurt feelings)?

JohnB, a Daniel to you, a second Daniel...well said man.

  3. Holy Ninja Gaiden

$100 is like waaaaay off my budget...I expected it to be done in like what max $15-20....

You know I am not funded under the Black Budget program, that's why. And I don't have enough money to spare (darn, especially after the Samsung 616T to SD 605 conversion)

    Since I need a 37V 10A power supply does that mean I'll pay 37*10=$370.

    YIKES!!!!

No waaaay I can afford that man...if you read the above posts you'll find out it works out way cheaper on a DIY.

Oh yeah, with $30 more I can get a premium bundle.

  4. isn’t Mumbai unusual because it is a Portuguese settlement...In India...and an Info town as well...that must be a curious place.

    Portuguese? No,no....I think that's pondicherry.

Info town...kind of. Bangalore has taken that title

But there's one thing over here...the Sensex (ie stock market) Heart of the country

    Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan

(trans. lit. This is Mumbai my life)

  5. I don't know about killing Muslims but I personally feel those who have wronged others bigtime should be erased from the face of this planet.

I personally donot follow either Christianism, or Islam or even Jew(just in case that decides to join this thread). So I have no idea about the exact workings of each of them. I somewhat agree with bettina, but killing islam in it's entirety is taking it too far. I mean just kill them who've screwed other peoples' happiness for no reason, no matter what their religion, but targetting only one specific religion is bad. It's not like all muslims are bad, it's the classic case of a bad fish spoiling the pond.

**** reverse has got his 786th post *****

(you'all know it right it's considered auspicious/holy by Islams)

Ok no back to serious stuff. Targetting one religion is wrong wrong and wrong. I don't think Mohd. would have wanted it this way, but yes the veils and all are very bad. But then again there are the other kind of muslims very very liberal(it's said that Mohd.'s Brother didn't like his closed ideas and forwarded his own religion, very open minded i think they're called aga khans).

How would the Christians like it(ok now dont flame me please coz it's just an arguement), if an islam dude said to (gulp)kill all christians just because some oddball christian went and bombed the islamic religious centre...

So, it isn't like you need to wipeout everyone in the world. Just get even with that guy....

I'm again stressing that what I say is not pointed towards any one religion but instead towards the crime.

  6. how does it know when a series of 101010101010100111110001010101000 is a complete file and does not accidently read into another part of another file. How HOw HOw? I mean in a huge collection of 0 and 1 how would YOU know which part made what file?

  7. Ok, I was like going cool with building the power supply. Like going out and buying the parts and all. Suddenly my friend has an idea. He asks our electronics professor about our circuit diagram, and that guy is like "OK, fine you've done all this, but you could use IC723 and eliminate all the other components a.k.a. capacitor, resistor etc, etc."

We told him that it gives only 0.15A. Then he says that transistors could be used to obtain a current gain. The circuit diagram he gave us is like below

My problem is will this work(I'm feeling doubtful, coz there's no regulation).

He told us that the output of the transformer+bridge should be given as input.

And secondly I am frankly getting bored of this entire drama, by my friends and the prof. AND I don't know what values to put for the resistances over there, and the transistor. We need 5A atleast man...

  8. maybe the most (gulp!) practical solution ever deviced is this:

    1. go up in a skydiving airplane

    2. Take a parachute, and a jet pack(just in case, you never know)

    3. Jump out of the plane.

    4. Using cheat codes on the jetpack for unlimited fuel, get so much thrust such that your downward(yes, downward not upward) acceleration ranges from 0.00000000001 to 1 less than the standard 9.81 (acceleration needed may vary from person to person)

    5. With the weighing scale above you(you brought it, didn't you?) i.e. on your head you get the reading.

    6. Land on the ground(safety is optional), and give the reading to a guy who knows physics and ask him the answer.

Tada, you've found out your weight in 6 easy-to-follow steps.

  9. get one part of your body weighed and then fix it back on your body. Then find a function that relates to your body density, volume etc etc...

Then integrate |f(x) between base of feet and top of head. Over.

  10. Or we could do one more thing.

Put the guy and the weighing scale completely in a liquid(assume the scale is water proof) with density such that the scale reads less than 4.9 .

Then by laws of buoyancy we could easily calculate the weight like weight of liquid=actual weight - weight lost (or something like that, I'm feeling sleepy)

Or just go to a store and look out for their exchange schemes where we've got proper weighing scales.

Or go to a person with proper weighing scales and say, "Sir, I've got a nice kitchen weighing scale. I would you give it to you if you would allow me to check my weight on your weighing scale." All problem solved, plain and simple.

  11. What do you think about an open system and a closed system a.k.a. a PC and a Console, and which would you prefer to develop on?

I personally think that closed system would be best as there would be no compatibility issues and since the OS footprint is so small as compared to a PC so all resources can be dedicated to the application ie game. And due to the nature of a closed system, better looking game (graphics, textures, AA, effects) can be made as compared to games on PC that have a higher system requirement.

  12. i can agree with you BUT

just think that a console is a closed environment and like there's only a chance of 1 in [latex]10^6[/latex] that I might de-solder the cpu chip and put a new one...

Generally given the deadlines, I think it is faster and more convinient for the guys to use something given as a timer, and don't you think that they are justified. You open the 'boX and your warranty is *poof* gone. An average guy isn't going to open his boX, so to some extent the programmer can take it for granted...

  13. Hi

I'm 18 and I've always been having one particular dream for more than 7-8 years.

    The dream is like this...

I am below a building where I used to live when I was 6-7 years. The thing is that I am very springy. While everyone else is comfortable walking, when I take a step I bounce into the air and then come down. It's like a case of low gravity, where I cannot walk like normal but I am taking large footsteps, greater than the ones that people took on the moon. Quite literally jumping. I want to stand at one place, but no matter what the next time I land on the ground only to bounce/jump higher...

That's the dream that I have ever so often.

    Thanks!

  14. you will undoubtedly need to do some soldering for this "hack" to work.

Also' date=' u may need to format ure memory chip as well...[/quote']

"Some" is a very mild term. Serious soldering skills is needed, it's a pain just unsoldering ICs from PCBs. Try on a junk PCB, to remove a switch or an IC then you'll know what it really is...

But I think the swap should work fine, still sceptical though because we donot know if the actual flash they supply has got any software or firmware embedded into it.

Well if they can swap an xbox pentium 733mhz processor with a 1.4 ghz one, then I find no reason this shouldn't work.

  15. The part about placing it on the bridge.

I think it should be placed at the mid-point between the pillars having maximum distance.

And how about ordering around 5 to 6 more from eBay to place it on the base of each pillar (if feasible)?

  16. ok now i understood...

    :)

Actually I also found the ckt diag that you gave to be a bit nicer than the one I saw...but the only thing I'm not confident is about the additional winding on the transformer because I think I'll have to make that myself and am pretty wary of doing that.

If there was anyway the additional winding could be eliminated then I'd have no problem making it.

    OR

If that type is readily available in the market then also I have no problem.

So will I have to make the additional winding or will transformers be readily available that way?

  17. maybe that black hole could be sucking light from here and appear as a star in another universe???

But then there appears one more question, why is there not as many blackholes in this universe?

Possible answer: There may not be that many stars in the other universe/universes.

Maybe each blackhole spew light into different universe.

Maybe the centre of big bang is nothing more than a blackhole termination from another universe.

    Maybe maybe maybe...nobody knows

  18. If we get light only once per crystal then frankly I find no application for this.

Suppose the bridge is going to collapse, fine, it'll shine for a few brief seconds and then Boom!!! the bridge is gone. In those few seconds how can one expect to quickly reinforce the bridge. Maybe lives can be saved, but the collapse will occur and nothing can stop it.

That's think, correct me if I'm wrong.

  19. Well I told that for the voltmeter thing...

    You said this:

"Then you`ll need a power transistor directly off the + pre-regulated voltage with the output as marked up in that cct diag you liknked to, as the feed for the base of this power transistor.

you`ll lose .7 of a volt, so your output will be .5 Volt min (that`s better IMO).

    I recomend either a TIP3055 or a 2N3055 as the output trans."

And I couldn't follow it, let's say that I've not completed my course in Engg.

(Yeah and by the way I'm doing Engineering in mechanical, not electronics or electrical so maybe that's why i didn't follow what you said.)

Don't transistors have 3 terminals anyway? So if the base is hooked up with the part before "in", where do the other 2 get connected...
