  1. Dearlord! Thats brilliant Man! M.C. what you need is a delay mechanism. put a magnet in the center of the dice. Now attach that magnet to a delay mechanism. Now the player will hold a magnet in his hand. when he grabs the dice from the opponet the two magnet will attract each other secretely. Now the delay mechinism will ick in which will 3 or 5 seconds to role the dice. If you do this the biggest problem would be the delay mechanism.
  2. try it and see... Put it on the back of a card or something so that the magician can read the card with red colored glasses
  3. Here's an idea: put a piece of metal in a dice on one side. Create and/or buy an electro-magnet [both waysare very easy] that can be held in the hand. Now when you roll the dice try to keep it centered in the magnet held under the table and it should always land on the right side.
  4. Well I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but it is mother's day. So if you haven't given your mother a call or completely forgot to send her those bouquet of flowers, or if you live with your mother and didn't bother to watch her feet or whatever you do for mothers day... ...you've been warned. Happy Mom's day everyone.... or not depending on what your children do if your a mom.
  5. Nope. Only if there are mutiple colors in the paper.. For example: Say if you had blue paper with tiny red dots spelling hello... invisible to the naked eye... Now you hold up a blue filter and the red stands out like christmas light.
  6. You know what.... know that Im thinking about it. Why not just weight the dice instead of getting all fancy?
  7. First you mix lemon and water.... Then you take a quitip or something and write on the paper Invivible... Heat the paper to see the message...
  8. I thought mirrors reflected light?

I agree with with Kylanos since water has stronger intermolecular attraction. air tends to be elastic while however in water the energy is focused [is that the right word] into into a wave with a lot more momentum and power.

Exactly! I was just explaining the differences though...
  11. Well excuse me.... I know there are more women on these sites than people usually give credit for, but that just shows how much I know. Sorry...
  12. he's right your gonna need a biology book of a good diagram..
  13. From wikipedia:2006-01-13, Sciencedaily: Deep-rooted Plants Have Much Greater Impact On Climate Than Experts Thought Citat: "...The tap roots transfer rainwater from the surface to reservoirs deep underground and redistribute water... increases photosynthesis and the evaporation of water... by 40 percent in the dry season... During the wet season, these plants can store as much as 10 percent of the annual precipitation as deep as 13 meters (43 feet) underground, to be tapped during the dry months... tree roots acting like pipes to allow water to shift around much faster than it could otherwise percolate through the soil." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tap_root From this I would assume plants with taproot have been adabted to survive dry conditions..

Well the only thing I can find different is there would be no transfer of the motion by water. Instead the air would would carry the wave of energy water would have. But since air is elastic the wave would soon dissapate and lose its power. However the sound should carry for some distance. The air wave also goes out in three dimension with out boundries while a wave throug water sonly really has two dimensions since hieght is not that much of a factor. In other words: You'll hear an above ground earthquake... You'll just get a tsunami on a underwater one....
  15. I don't know about having a peace of metal inside a dice, but put a magnet inside and you'll be a rich man...
  16. Hellooo... Could you tell us exactly what your looking for. In other words is this a practical question of just a thought experiment. Because though I hate to bring up the obvious, but how about water with a little bit of lemon juice. I hate to tell you, but I don't know many ways in which filtering light can produce an image from an already colorless surface. Here's the reason in my thinking. white light is made up of all colors. When those hit a surface such as white paper all the colors will be reflected. Now say if you used iany color filter... lets take blue. All other colors would be absorbed so everything will look blue. UV chemicals however may look colorless under normal light, but when a higher frequency of light is added if glows. Here light is added and not filtered. The only way a filter would help is if the original paper and righting were not colorless. Otherwise they could not be seen on the visible spectrum. Am I correct?
  17. Just thought Id give a shout out to some random members at SFN: Wow the welcome screen is telling me I haven't been here in over a month... do I get an award for that?? Anyway I only stop by here every once in a while since my hometown is SDC, but anyways I like what your doing with the contests...really instills an air of community. Anyway I doubt if anyone knows who the hell I am since I only posted once here... But hey I came back.. maybe ill stay a little longer this time... GoodLuck too all of you.

  19. This all depends on what Thought means by "destroy" 1. Break up to the point that no particles of the original existing material could be considered as so. 2. Turn all matter of original existing material completely into energy. 3. Innahilate to the point that no matter or energy created from or part of the original material is no longer detectable with in the 4-dimensional space-time of our universe. ...I think that clarifies things a bit.
  20. I posted it on this site under physics/ astronomy. However this thread was not started to stat my hypothesis. I was simply asking a question based on the physics of tachyons. Beleive it or not it is very hard to find imformation on hypothetical particles. And most books defraign [i know I spelled that wrong] from talking about the negative mass properties of tachyons. I really just want to ALL the physics of a tachyon. Or at least what the are hypothesized to be...
  21. what kind of math? its not visible. It moves FTL and therefore unseen. No radiation can effect it. Please elaborate on the equations you would like to see... whats "ed84c" ???
  22. Okay I have posted this same thread a mont ago on another site. Amazing ly it is still going. Now I want to ask you the same question. Im not that smart so you probalbly won't have trouble pointing out all the flaws of this hypothesis which is all for the better. So lets get started than. Why are tachyons needed? > to explain many of the problems in our universe such as: Red-shift and the discrepencies in galaxy formation and strength. Why not dark matter and dark energy? >IMO dark matter and energy are two excellant theories. The problems arise when we try to find particles for them. I believe tachyons can take the place of dark matter and energy. How so? > Well I was hoping we would get here. Its make or break time... -------------------------"The Tachyonic Sea"---------------------------- I believe the "tachons sea" is the cause for all of the effects they attribute to dark matter and energy. People were a lot more familiar with tachyons. than some mysterious dark matter. I believe that tachyons are not just a possible candidate for dark matter or dark energy, but both. That is where I stand. I believe the gravitational effect of dark matter are those of tachyons. And I am willing to debate this point further with you in kind manner. The Tachyonic Sea: 1.Tachyons fill the universe. 2.They are FTL particles with imaginary mass. This Imaginary mass should have the same properites as negative mass. 3. The tachyonic sea surrounds galaxies and supplies the pressure that keeps them together. 4. This same force also moves the galaxies apart, providing a possible cause for red-shift. Shouldn't we see them? Tachyons are possible to see, but only after they have passed a place. I believe the tachyons surrounding the galaxies are to small and far apart to be seen with the modrn telescope. Can a water droplet be seen in another galaxy? Secondly Tachyons can not form the same intermolecular bonds as normal matter to make compounds such as water and such What about Chrenvok radiation? I believe that this radiation is still emited, but who knows what way light effects a particle going FTL? These are my reasons for believing in the Tachyonic Sea Hypothesis. TADA
