  1. That's not true...maths is just important in physics...physics can be expressed through words.
  2. ...what's the point in things having values that change? And how would money be created without the prices of things and the amount people are paid going up to compensate?
  3. So why is time travel possible according to physics... Steven Hawking onced explained that you can travel through time [to the future] but orbiting a blackhole because time is slower near to a blackhole because of the intense gravity curving time. You could orbit a blackhole for 100 years and the Earth might have progressed 1000 years. [The statistic of 100 years orbiting a blackhole = 1000 years on Earth is not accurate and has not been checked. It was used as an example.] [if time travel is possible then time must exist as if it didn't you wouldn't be able to travel through it.] I came up with a speculation, no one seemed to have seen, that potentially replaced time with space...as no-one noticed me posting it, I cannot even tell you whether it is plausible or nonsense...but that is irrelevant.
  4. It just means you have less symptoms... Usually fewer/milder symptoms is a sign that your body is beating the disease. ...although some diseases cause very few or very mild symptoms. This may be because said disease only targets certain parts of your body. [EG: Cancer] ...But less/milder symptoms when you are infected with a cold it usually does mean you are beating the disease.
  5. wait...So Christians believe it is moral to commit genocide?!? If god sets the standard then it must be moral...then again he said you can't murder...So it's moral but you will be killed and sent to hell for it? That doesn't sound fair...and it doesn't make much sense...
  6. 1/2. The virus is defeated when it's no longer in your body. There are diseases you can have that show no symptoms until it's too late. 3. Yes/No...symptoms are there for many reasons. Runny noses are to stop more diseases getting in whilst you are in your infected, weaker state when you are more susceptible to disease. Mucus also acts as a barrier, trapping foreign objects like viruses and bacteria to stop them getting to the cells and then running out of your nose, ejecting them, or dragging them to their doom in your stomach acid. Sometimes symptoms are caused by the disease itself. [A sore throat can be caused by a virus or bacteria damaging your throat cells.] 4. Yes. 5. No it is not certain that the virus will not return.
  7. ...Either way we all agree the argument fails. Am I right or wrong? The following is a simplification of what the dictionary says...Moral = right, Immoral = wrong ...Hence morality has no standard and is different for everyone although society does tend to agree on many things that are immoral and moral. Law is basically an attempt to create a standard code of what is moral and immoral. A standardisation of morality if prefer. So Cap' refsmmat, I'd say your argument is wrong because my definition of morality tells me morality applies to all things equally and is not a standard that is above or below anything. You however may have a different definition.
  8. Evil can sound like good... Take a murderer...he is morally wrong...doesn't make what he says morally wrong. He could be saying stealing is wrong, lying is wrong, and being envious is wrong. ...though I do agree that a religion worshipping an morally imperfect god would be unattractive to probably most people.
  9. Reasons to worship a god that tells you to be morally perfect but is hypocritical: -Fear, Hell is not a desirable place to go. The almighty has been 'DESTROY ALL SINNERS!!!' in the past... -Greed, You want the prize...Heaven. -You have little choice...god will smite you and punish you if you don't. -You actually want to.
  10. ...well then I posted this in the wrong place...Could you please move it?
  11. Indeed speculative material should be in speculation... ...but you should post a link to your speculation here if it is relevant to the topic.
  12. Well if it isn't mentioned that it is morally perfect it must not be morally perfect and this argument is useless against a Christian/ Jewish[ /Muslim?] god as it may not be morally perfect. If the religious stopped assuming god was morally perfect and accepted the fact the holy books never say anything about it being morally perfect they could justify sin and all the violence and immorality in the bible to those who use that as an argument against religion...
  13. Where in the bible [the Jewish one please...the Christian one is tainted...] does it tell us he is morally perfect?
  14. Time exists...If it didn't we wouldn't have time dilation etc. Clocks move faster in space than on Earth.
  15. ...but protons are made from quarks. Proton = 2 up quarks and 1 down quark.
  16. Boiling water would freeze faster because... http://math.ucr.edu/.../hot_water.html ...but water that has been boiled then left to cool would not freeze faster then normal water of the same temperature.
  17. ...Protons aren't made of energy they're made of quarks...
  18. I think they're forgetting the influence of job stealing computers that can sustain a culture for us...also they make it seem that Islam is only the fastest growing because they are having the most children, which usually take on their parents religion, and not because people are willingly converting.
  19. I finally got the time to watch the entire video...
  20. It is unlikely to be infinite...Why is there no outside? No edge? How about a surface? And why would you end up back where you started if you were travelling through space? Gives me the names of your centre-less shapes... [Many things form spheres in space so it too may be spherical. As it is spreading out equally in all directions it is likely to be a spherical shape IMO.] You can use flying equipment to leave the surface of a planet...Why no a special kind of space-ship to leave the universe. @Hal9000: I'm not a creationist...I don't like any religions...they all sound like nonsense. It isn't possible for it to arise from nothing. It bounced back from the old universe...where that came from I do not know but there is no point speculating until information about it has been found which it never will...[see[google] big bounce theory] I'm not asking where the centre is...I'm asking why it is assumed there is no centre...sure we might never find the centre but it doesn't mean there never was a centre.

    Space.

Space is flat...you wouldn't curve back around...
  22. Well now it's time to answer the title question...The universe must have a centre...In order for it to not have a centre it must either be infinite [which it is not] or doughnut/bagel shaped...but that would mean that the universe has a hollow centre and therefore still has one.
  23. It prompted this topic...It said there is no centre or everywhere is the centre just because everything looks like the centre if you overlay the current universe onto the old one. He did it by overlaying 1 dot onto the same dot on the other image...I say thats the wrong way to find the centre...The centre is obviously the centre of the image... There must still be a centre...even if the universe was everything that everything has now spread out and must have spread out from 1 [or more] point within itself...background radiation making everything appear to be the centre just shows us that background radiation is not good evidence to use because it causes an illusion. Galaxies don't just move away from each other...Good evidence for this is the Andromeda galaxy heading straight towards us. The universe is spreading out in all directions but that doesn't mean it doesn't/never had a centre. I found this more helpful;
  24. If you didn't think finding the answer was a waste of time you wouldn't say it is unnecessary to do physics. Like I said...it can disprove your what/how. Super simple Eg: 1. What: A cake, How: Cooking. 2.Why: I'm hungry and want to make something like chicken. 3. point 1 is now obviously wrong. 4. What: Chicken, How: Cooking. Less simple eg: 1. Mass curves space-time creating gravity. [What] 2. [insert explanation of the new shape of space-time after being curves by mass.] [how] 3. Why is discovered: Mass does not curve space-time. Space and time are dimensions but time is not connected to space. Time moves independently to space and time is pulled on by gravity whilst space is not. This cause time to be in concentration around things with mass and things with mass have gravity. Space is not curved. /Random why which is probably wrong but is just there to show that a why can fly in the face of everything you know such as a space-time continuum composed of space and time being one./ <Though if it could be true feel free to discuss...]
  25. ...we don't have all the answers yet? Topic closed methinks...[if there is no answer there is no point in me asking the question until someone finds the answer]
