Interesting. For those of us who might want to pursuit further insight on this subject, post a link to your source.

Although I was very well versed on the nature of our enteric nervous system, I wasn't as much on the contribution of microbes to that system and their potential mental health effects. Indeed, it's quite interesting.

Yeah, I think it's very well known that we are becoming a sterilized society where our lack of exposure to healthful microbes as children could adversely affect our immune system later on. I joyful played in the good ole Alabama dirt, worked in the fields, and tended a host of farm animals in my youth. Although I'm far removed from the Alabama clay and microbial exposure, I think the health benefits I derived were immense.

Perhaps; however, the video discusses the microbiome relationship between our gut and brain, which may have significant cognitive implications as observed through mice study. I invite your posts here regarding the significance of those human microbiome relationships elsewhere in the body.

Today I learned about how our microbiome could potentially influence our brain health. It seems that the microbes in our gut can influence our brain chemistry thus affecting our mood and cognition. Much of the research has involved mice, which doesn't necessarily translate to human potentials but is interesting all the same.

I've enjoyed that odd bit of British humor from the moment it first aired on PBS here in the states.

Today I learned about the various colors of urine and their potential medical implications. further, I learned about a condition called alkaptonuria, which is a disease that can render urine black when urine is exposed to air.

Today I learned about Ching Shih Yi, the most successful female pirate in maritime history. She was a brilliant strategist who managed to retire at age 35 as royalty and whose pirate ships remained undefeated by imperial fleets from China, Portugal, and Great Britain. What a remarkable lady for her era. Also, today I learned about May Annning, a 19th century fossil hunter responsible from several significant finds and how we understand fossils as evidence of extinct species of animals who lived several million years ago. She was another remarkable lady whom I'm now discovering.

Today I learned that space begins from Earth at the Karman line, which is essentially a arbitrary boundary between our planet's mesosphere and thermosphere.

Today I learned that the Iron Maiden was never a medieval torcher device. The device was actually a 19th century performance artist piece.

Today I learned the dangers of food preparation in aluminum foil.

What an unfortunate development. Please, post a link to your source.

Today I learned about A Modest Proposal.

Today I learned the history of tea and that it's consumption around the world is only second to water. I also learned that the tea trade was once responsible for the spread of opium addiction in China when instead of silver, English merchants began to offered opium in trade for tea.

I had a look and have to say that the jury's still out on this one. Correlation isn't causation and the sample is small. This needs more research.

Today I learned about the history of cannabis. It's native to central Asia, dioecious, and only its females produce THC.

As I understand, negative mass should involve a repulse/attraction effect, where positive (+) mass is repulsed by negative (-) mass while (-) mass maintains an attraction to (+) mass. The overall effect causes acceleration as (+) mass is continually repulsed and chased by negative mass. However, the physicists discovery discussed in that SFN link describes a fluid that accelerates backward when the nature of a negative mass elements, as I understand, should accelerate forward towards repulsed (+) masses. I believe the video link I posted discusses that discovery's acceleration conundrum. Nevertheless, I understand the substance and its effects much better now.

Though I'm not quite sure it describes principles relative to negative mass, your video link certainly does provide an easy to understand example of "behaves unexpectedly." If it is indeed relative to the idea of negative mass, I now have a firmer understanding of that idea. Thank you.

Today I learned about negative mass and, by learned, I mean I have absolutely no understanding of the physics nor comprehension of what it is. The science is light-years beyond my understanding.

Today I learned that nearly two-thirds of all cancers are caused by natural mutations amid our body's cellular replication process. Our body replaces trillions of cell throughout our lifetime. Essentially, the shear number of cell replacements predisposes the process to errors that can produce cancerous mutant cells regardless of our lifestyle or exposure to carcinogens. It seems, in a majority of cases, getting cancer might just be bad luck rather than an unhealthful lifestyle.

Today I learned why some motorcyclists crash. It seems that most crashes are due to poor cycling skills and inattentiveness.

I wondered about that as well. The article did says the longest was an oil well but didn't say what that meant. The article also referenced a SciShow video link which it did not provide. Perhaps the details are in that nonexistent video link.

Today I learned what's at the bottom of the world deepest borehole. It's in Murmansk, Russia and it's 12,262 meters (7.5 miles approx.).

Yes, you're quite correct. It was 2.5 instead of 1.5 years. 1.5 years was their initial calculation, whereas, 2.5 years was their final more precise calculation.
