  1. The mention of 2.5 years time was made on 01-31-2003, 11:02 AM. So its actually 3 years now.
  2. Yea. Thats why I said still waiting.
  3. Good plan. Im gonna try that one.
  4. I could just imagen what a few telstars mite do to earings or fillings.
  5. Gentoo is for Ricers http://funroll-loops.org/
  6. 175% earth mass mite be bearable after you adjust and build more muscle to handle the weight. You would not be able to run that fast and you would probably end up becoming short and stocky bacause of the weight. 550% earth mass on the other hand i think that is to much g forces to deal with. You would weigh 5.5 times what you do on earth. As for 1% of earths gravity im not so sure about that idea either. Your mucles would get weaker with out the need for them to work as much and your bones would become thinner. Just like you hear about with past prolonged space missions on places like the Mir space station. Also trying to goto the Loo in such low gravity enviroments doesn't sound fun either. As with imaging other planets its something i used to do when I was a kid. More recently I try and imagen other types of thoughts or intellegences. Even trying to understand every differen't view point of humans is enough of a challenge for me. Other planets will become much more interesting when we have some way to actually travel there. Like some sort of hyperspace technology or something. I hope some thing like that may develop within my life time. Probably not but it would be cool if it did.
  7. Google tells me buy a new modem. The drivers were not included in the 2.4 kernal. They were binarys on a cd. I have some "source" code .src.rpm packages im not sure if they are true soruce code. They also complain when I try to complie them that the kernal header file is the wrong version and shows 2.6.

    Time.

I was refering to getting the particles from a differen't place. As I was talking about only effecting one solar system and having the reason of the universe stay the same. I guess its not really worth thinking about though because I don't think there will ever be a way of rewinding atoms to there past states of years ago and if there was it is unlikely that it would be done any way.
  9. lol, finally I think we have found the real reason.

    Time.

I don't think time travel is really possible. Maybe if we ended up insainly advanced we could reverse all molcular movements and reactions so that time effectivly moves backwards even though time hasn't changed at all just the placement of atoms has changed. Then we could have time travel and then move forwards in time by the way of moving near the speed of light around the planet to actually move forward in time. That I think is the only way of "moving" back in time in theory. Not that this kind of thing would ever be doable or that any one would ever want to do that. Actual time travel I dont think exists because you can not move back in time as it is moving back to a time when atoms and every thing was a certain way and in this way I think time is a illusion. The fact that time is moving forward is not a illusion bacause things can change in differen't ways they just can't change back to the exact way they were before. I may not of made sense or am just repeating what every one here mite already know. Im just seeing if my idea of time is right. Hope i have expained what i mean properly.
  11. I hope this theory works. Image how interesting it would be finding more about the universe from machines actually visiting there. This technology if it works may even be accessable to the common man like planes with in my life time if it works. But like all things that sound too good im not holding my breath for it.
  12. I would love it if the technology in that article worked. Some how it seems a bit to good to be true plus the fact they talk about it being based on physics that conflicts with the laws comonally excepted so it makes me think that this probably is not going to work. Funding every science project that came up with a idea for interstellar space travel could send the government on a wild goose chase wasting money. That said I think there will be more theorys in the future of differen't ways to travel between stars if this heims theory doesn't work in. And one of those theorys mite work. I would hope they invent some thing for interstellar travel with in the next 40 years but im not holding my breath. Longer life is some thing I am more interested in or though I fear that that will only be for rich people who can afford health care or what ever new medical invention that people invent.
  13. Windows needs updates and runs into problems because its a broken piece of software but on the other hand installing software on Linux is mostly a nightmare if you can't find the right precompiled binarys and have to try and complie a whole list of depenancys and the application you want. Or though I do like rpm packet manager. The packet manager that Fedora uses alot of people rubish it but its not that bad if you use pbone and type what you want to download and download it then open up your terminal logon as root then rpm -i and see what depenancys are missing (quite often theres a few) and go back to pbone and look at the reqiured depency list and download the things you need. I have heard Yum even better where you just have to type what you want to install into yum and it finds all the depencys need and installs them for you. I am stuck in windows since about 2 days ago because I was trying to upgrade my distro to Fedora 4 when I found out that my modem wasn't surported. I have to buy a new modem as there are no drivers out there for linux 2.6.* kernal. It worked in rh9 because I had drivers for the 2.4.* kernal. I really want to get back to linux because I want some stablity back and I love multiple desktops. there is a version of mulitple desktops for windows but it just doesn't cut it. Gnome and Xfce are my favorite window managers.
  14. I always thought dogs could see color just like we do. Now I know dogs have dichromatic color vision. Makes me see dogs in a slightly differen't light. Is this how people become color blind? When one of these pigments is missing or damaged?
