  1. Me? I think that this is a beautifull and well though out idea. Just think of the benifits of it. Paraplegics could in the future walk again. In my opinion I hope that in the future they do implant these into people, helping people walk. The possibilities are limitless. To limitless to be ignored just by the fact that they test it on animals. New Vaccines that save billions of peoples lives are tested on animals.
  2. dont you remember newtons universal law of gravitation? cant you just take gravity out of the equation? so whats left is Fg= m1*m2/r squared someone tell me how i can write this in (math)(/math) form?
  3. oooh pleiades..... that doesent sound to safe.
  4. It depends on the color of the paper to begin with. Obviously if you start out with a piece of blue paper you couldnt have blue mean anything or else you wouldnt be able to see it.
  5. I think that the pnly reason that theres differences like that is the different forms of Natural Selection that each race attributes.
  6. 160 is the answer basically think of it like a puzzle your given 17x + 7 (the part of the puzzle that they gave you) and then they gave you another clue and thats x=9 so using order of operations: im assuming you know what that is you replace the x with (9) so this is what the equation will look like with the clue in it 17(9) + 7 Im also assuming that you know that two numbers side to side mean that you need to multiply them so the equation is 17x9+7 multiply 17 and 9 and you get 153 then whats left is 153+7 add them 160 (your answer)
  7. To put it bluntly, your teacher was wrong. Light doesent need ANYTHING to travel through. Light is photons. Infact the speed of light © is slowed down in the earths atmosphere, where does the reamaining part of light go? Its turned into thermal energy.
  8. wow i cant believe i forgot about the sagan light sail.
  9. just watch the damn video it pretty much explains everything
  10. Thank you swansont im just curious what more exactly are you doing in your lab now? How else can light exert pressure on it? So this means that in our atmosphere light speed isnt a constant? its slowed down slowly?
  11. I apologise for the double post but another thing just went through my head. When light is travelling through the vacuum of space its moving at C whouldnt it slow down if it enters a medium? Such as.....Earths atmosphere? Does this mean that the speed of light on earth is actually slowed down unless its in a complete vacuum?
  12. Thanks for the very imformative post Sisyphus it was very helpful to me but while reading it a few points popped into my head. The medium that sound passes through being mostly, in our case on earth Air right? If a sound wave can traverse through air as a medium, than why cant light? We do not live in a vacuum. Therefore there HAS to be something for in which light to travel. Isnt this a medium? On another note, wouldnt there be no sound if there is no medium for it to pass through? Using this logic does this mean that there is no light in space (a vacuum) if theres nothing for it to travel through? This to me is very important. I cannot agree with you more on this. I cannot though think of any examples though in which light can exert pressure on thing, maybe im not thinking hard but i really would like more info on this. If anyone knows anything onit then PLEASE tell me.
  13. yes they move at different speeds but they move diffewrent distances at the same time so they cancel each other out. so
  14. sound is a wave. the inner ear detects sound by the vibrations on the eardrum from the sound wave. light is a wave also. does the moving of the eardrum to make a vibration imply that the sound wave has a mass and is pounding against the eardrum? wouldnt this mean that the wave has a mass? if light to is also a wave using this analogical thinking wouldnt this to imply that light waves have a mass? this doesent make sence why light is so different from sound of there both a wave- you cant get very much simpler defintion of the two than a wave- now so you dont think im retarded i do realise that light has no mass bc if it would every time we step out of the dark we would be turned into swiss cheese from the "mass" of the photons. what im trying to get at is are there a differnt definition of a wave than i dont know of?
  15. so wait..... do photons of light even though they have no mass do they still have a gravitational field? if not then why is the "speed" of gravity relative to the speed of light? maybe my logic is incorrect but it doesent seem right that the "speed" of gravity should be construed to the speed of light if light itself doesent have a gravitational field?
  16. on your third point: i fould a great explanation on a website on why the speed of light is used in the equation http://www.osti.gov/accomplishments/nuggets/einstein/speedoflight.html use this link
  17. there.....GOSH!!!! cant i like al to? (sob)
  18. maybe hes talking about one of those REALLY BIG buckets
  19. simpky put they will stop in the same distance bc the more massive cars' mass will be met with an equal amount of friction. small car= less friction
  20. hahaha so true fans cool bc of evaporation thats al they do. ando you get a nice breeze!
