Dear Cap'n Refsmmat and vordhosbn, thx for your answers. They were useful. I've read some where that a random number can be produced by the current date and time. Is that possible? I don't know, but I think this way has problems.

Hi everybody, We all know that we can have random numbers by pressing #RAN or #RND button in calculators and there is such a command in computer programming languages that produces a random number. It's always been a question for me that how does a computer or a calc generate random numbers? Does it have a certain algorithm or sth?

If [math] f(x) = x^3 + x + 2[/math] and [math]f(a) = 9[/math] then: Calculate [math]f^{-1}(-5)[/math] at "a". This is the question that i'm thinking of it but i can't solve it at all! Does anyone know that how i can get to the answer?

You sure that if we keep on charging a capacitor, it will breakdown? I think the "dielectric breakdown" will only happen when we put it on a high voltage orbit; i mean if the voltage of the orbit is more than the voltage that the capacitor can take (it is written on it) therefore that capacitor will breakdown; but keeping on charging; i'm not sure!

Are the space trash really dangerous for an ordinary man that is living on the planet earth or no? if so, what is its danger? i know they're dangerous in some ways; but i want t know 'bout their influence on ordinary people.
