  1. Lol, thanks dude you rock. I guess I'll stop adding salt to pots of water now. Do all solids take longer to heat than liquid? Say would garlic powder taker longer to heat up than garlic sauce? I know it's probally a stupid question but you never know.

  2. Hey! I have a son who developed a seizure disorder about 3 weeks after birth. I'm happy to say he had his last one over two years ago & is about to undergo his last EEG to reassure the neurologist that he has "out-grown" the seizures & we can start weening him off of his meds. I'm just wondering if an infant can "rewire" their brain around a problem or fix the problem why can't we stimulate this action in other humans? Is it the the constant developement of the childs brain that enables him to do this? If so then why does this differ from ,say, adults learning new things? I'm guessing it may have something to do with where the problem is & possibly how developed the problem is. The neurologist never actually figured out what was causing my sons seizures but he did say it appeared as though the left side of his brain was breaking down "sugar" more quickly than the right. Now I was under the assumption that the two sides of the brain opperated differently so why would this have an effect on anyone? And I was also told this could affect his speech in the future. Is that true? Sorry for so many questions but I would really appreciate any free time & input from someone. I'm just really curious on this subject & I never really have time to try & get technical with the doctor. Thanks!!

  3. The 'God" particle that they are trying to detect is the Higgs Boson. This oparticle is believed to be responible for the Mass of objects.

Sweet, thanks for the help! Now,if there is no better medium for photons to travel through than a vacuum than is there anyway we can make the vacuum stronger & possibly increase c ? Or is this a stupid question? Very possible! :D

  4. Hey, I'm Mr. Blond. Yes, the misspelling is intentional. I'm a 24 year old high school drop-out; not by choice. I'm interested in all things scientific & love to learn. Lol, guess that means I'm a dork :D ! I'm out to learn anything & everything & eventually make my way to college. If I confuse you or annoy just ignore. I tend to think differently than most  . I'm up for any topic of discussion just hit me up. I like looking into new theories & coming up with my own.

Quantum Entanglement..what's that, lol? Sounds fun!

  5. Thanks Ryan! Would you suggest those books as a good starting point? Just say I'm starting from scratch. Websites can't help me much since I have so little free time at home. Anyone have any suggestions & a little free time feel free to reply or e-mail me. Thanks!

"You have to start somewhere to get somewhere"

  6. ']Uh' date=' try looking gravity up somewhere. You have some major misconceptions about how gravity works and it would take a lot of time and effort to set you straight.

Why would gravity be considered negative?

Why would the strength of the force have anything to do with its speed?

The sun and planets DO orbit each other, its just because the sun is so massive it doesn't really look like it.

Gravity has a fixed force at a given distance.

So you need to look at gravity, and newtons laws at the very least. Find a highschool physics website or something, it should help.[/quote']

Gee thanks for the pep talk. :D I guess I came to the wrong place. I'll take my questions & comments somewhere else so not to take up your valuable computer time & effort. Wouldn't want you to break a nail typing. Take a vacation dude, I think you need a break. Thanks for the help!!!!

  7. If there is no better medium for photons to travel through than a vacuum than is there anyway we can make the vacuum stronger & possibly increase c ? And I'm stilled confused by gravity, isn't it's strength determined by the mass of the object creating it? And does anyone know any thing about the "god" particle they are trying to detect with the new particle accelerator they're building? It's supposed to be the particle that keeps everything moving.....I think?

  8. I'm not an expert on this matter but how can gravity have a set "force" or "energy" when it's power is determined by the mass of the object creating it? If it had a set force how would satelittes orbit it & wouldn't outer planets sizes be proportionate to the set force of the suns gravity i.e. the planets would have to lose mass as you move farther from the sun? Like how earth orbits the sun & the planets & sun don't orbit each other. And to go back to the beginning of the thread - gravity is a weak force so how can it have the same speed of light? Wouldn't it have the same strength to move at the same speed? And wouldn't gravity be considered a negative force:confused: ? I'm failing to see any similarites between photons & gravitrons. I might be way off on this so fill me in, please. Thanks! One more thing....does anyone have any similarites between magnetism & gravity? Fill me in!

  9. I've got a weird question. What would happen if we "super-cooled" it? Kind of like what you can do with water & bring it below the freezing point so fast it doesn't have enough time to freeze at 0 centigrade. Let's say we bring it to -20 centigrade!

  10. That's what I thought as well' date=' I read that IgM was the first antibody to be detected in the blood following an immunization? So has she had any immunizations lately?

Waldenström's macroglobulinemia is the only cancerous disease of the plasma cells that I know of which secretes high levels of IgM[/quote']

the last one she had was after she had my son on 12/31/03. it was for ruebella( i'm sorry i know i'm spelling it wrong). you'd think the doctor would have told her if she was at risk for waldenstrom's,i hope so.

  11. My pregnant girlfriend went to the doctor this morning to see about her blood test results & they told her everything was fine but she did have a rare anti-body called M minus or M negative(I would ask her but I'm not waking a pregnant woman up at 2 in the morning, lol) or something like that. They told her it's not harmful just rare. Could anyone enlighten me as to any signifigance this may have or what purpose this anti-body serves. I know lots of discoveries are being made with the human body & I was just wondering if maybe this is genetic or any other info i could get. Any input & a correct term for this would help, thanks! Oh,and if it changes anything which i heard it would she's a redhead. I've heard redhead's have some kind of genetic difference. Any info on that would be great, also.

  12. Thanks for all the input guys! It's about 40 hours later & I'm feeling about 90 percent. I was barely able to hold down some pb&j sandwiches earlier but the nurse at work gave me stuff to help the upset stomach & I've been getting better since. I did change my diet to just soup & water after that though so that may have some effect. I just hope it doesn't come back tomorrow morning. Unfortunately I don't have any of the containers from work or any way to prove it came from either the eggs or the lunch at work but hopefully NPK was right & it's over with now. Thanks again for all the input! I'll reply later to let you know if it totally cleared up or just toyed with me after I eat this shrimp.

  13. Hey, this is my first time in here so i didn't want to start a new thread. I believe I have a weak case of food poisioning. I felt fine last night before bed but when i woke up this morning(I slept longer than usual, about 10 hours) I was horribly nauseated & immediately ran for the bathroom.Sorry for the description but i had the worst diarhea i've ever had, mostly water twice that hour. Then about 30 minutes later i had a heaving fit with little vomit that was brown with bits of food from my last meal which was rigatoni at work. I have a slight fever about 100 but slowly going up. I don't recall eating any meat yesterday & I'm not familar with any food poisioning not caused by meat; can any one help me with this. If this makes any difference I was working with open bags of liquid eggs at work that were splashing around (I work at a food plant).Any input would be great,Thanks.
