  1. AmScope has some good microscopes, I have one from them that I bought for about $200 that came with a digital attachment and goes up to 1000X, also came with a really nice steal carrying case and they sell loads of pre-made slides for your scientific viewing pleasure. 2. lets say you have atleast some access to food, because it's difficult to plan for an all encompassing catastrophy, there are certain combinations of food that are considered complete or that provide all 20 amino acids (essential and nonessential). for example, eating rice, beans, and corn together provides all 20. there are others but I dont know them off the top of my head... i think another is rice, seaweed, fish (sushi). but rice, beans, and corn could be kept in pretty large quantities without spoil pretty easy.
  3. the best way to clean bones that still have flesh on them is by using beetles (that's how museums clean bones, they keep atleast 1 entymologist around that raises and cares for large populations of beetles as part of their job).. drop the bones in and they will get every crevasse . my guess is that the mouse you found was cleaned by either beetles or ants.
