Christianity (split from Christian nationalism)
First of all, I am saying that ethics is people's words. Atheists, I believe are not immoral folks, they also help each other. The bottom line of the Bible is "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself"Matthew 22 Christianity teaches that you help others not because somebody told you to or it is written somewhere, but because you love people. Also I mentioned that Egyptian were punished for enslaving Jews. The key question is that slavery in the Bible is in no way similar to the racial slavery that our world has suffered from for the past few centuries. "8 We know that the Law is good if one uses it properly. 9 We also know that the Law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10 for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine" 1 Timothy 1:8-10 False. Because the ideas they support are against Christianity. "You then, who eat only vegetables — why do you pass judgement on others? And you who eat anything — why do you despise other believers? All of us will stand before God to be judged by Him. 11 For the scripture says: “As surely as I Am the living God, says the Lord, everyone will kneel before Me,and everyone will confess that I Am God.” Romans 14

Christianity (split from Christian nationalism)
The Bible explains the most subtle aspects of our psych. I think these lines tell what real slavery is. Yes, I agree.

Christianity (split from Christian nationalism)
I am saying that Christian nationalism contradicts Christianity and it's values. It is normal, when people help each other. The matter is in motivation, as you said. One thing, when one helps because it is ethically normal and moral deed, and another thing is helping others because it is your own choice, your first move without thinking. When you are guided by love, compassion.

Christianity (split from Christian nationalism)
I think my explanation would be off-topic. I only want to say about slavery. In biblical times, slavery was more of a social status. And the punishment suffered by the Egyptians shows how God views racial slavery.

Christianity (split from Christian nationalism)
"Help the poor" and "Love each other" are different things. Sir Francis Bacon, the founder of the scientific method wrote many philosophical and theological works. "His portion of the method based in scepticism was a new rhetorical and theoretical framework for science, whose practical details are still central to debates on science and methodology. He is famous for his role in the scientific revolution, promoting scientific experimentation as a way of glorifying God and fulfilling scripture." https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Bacon Yes, the universe is the same, but the methods of studying are opposite. Science wasn't detached from religion as nowadays.

Christianity (split from Christian nationalism)
And where has this progress led us? To the Christian nationalism? His words are good, because there are so much freedom, and aspiration and gratitude in this point of view. No, I am saying that there is the difference between Christianity and ethics. Ethics is people's words, and the Bible is the Word of God.

Christianity (split from Christian nationalism)
Exactly, "Love thy neighbor". "Be under obligation to no one — the only obligation you have is to love one another. Whoever does this has obeyed the Law. " The thing is you are doing this because you are willing in your heart to do so, or you were told to do so. This is absolutely necessary, because this difference distinguishes Christianity from ethics and morals.

Christianity (split from Christian nationalism)
Yes, but how would you distinguish ethics from Christian values? Yes, that's why I am talking about modern science. One of the members of this forum, Trurl, wrote good words, that before 20th century, science studied what God created for us.

Christian nationalism (split from The movement to destroy American culture and traditions.)
Sorry, but I can't help myself. What Christian Nationalism are you talking about? There's no Christian..Nationalism, it is a full misunderstanding of Christianity. The modern world removed Christian values and alive Spirit from itself. And so did modern science. This is the result of "there's no God". Here you go. Crocodile tears.

Gap between life and non-life (split from What if god...)
If you are not creationist, you HAVE to accept what science tells you, or you don't understand modern science.

I want to agree with you this time. Poor Luc Turpin doesn't know what he believes in ( and it's important) and wants to sit on two chairs. It's impossible. He doesn't understand, that scientists have verified everything to the inch, and one small change will ruin this verified system. Like in dominoes. But our modern world is build on this verification!! How do you know this? Is there any SCIENTIFIC definition of consciousness??

Gap between life and non-life (split from What if god...)
I don't like when people think for me. My question was to the young man, who wrote this: He is is sure the new day will come. And then So, why he doubts about the new day, if

Gap between life and non-life (split from What if god...)
I know very well that people die every day. Some people die because of other people. Not because of God's Will, but because of other people's will. But everything happens according to His Plan. I don't know whether I will wake up tomorrow, because for me everything is in His power. And why are you not sure of one's longevity?

Gap between life and non-life (split from What if god...)
Yes, I judge. Not in the sense to compare: if you are bad, then I am good. Though it is said not to judge. And I have no right to judge, because if something happens - this was meant to happen.

You only confirm that we are subjective. And there is no objectivity. My criteria could be wrong, so could yours. The only wisdom is objective. But yes, it does matter, because we have to judge. Judgments create our values. And it does matter on what values you judge yourself and others. What of my words made you think I am a troll?? I didn't know that asking questions meant trolling. If I disagree, how should I react to not being considered a troll? How should I behave? NO.

But what are your criteria of being good or bad? No, I am not a troll. I am a person. I just ask you some questions, and you attack and insult me in response. I thought it was a scientific forum. Good offence is the best defense, classic.

Why is that?

Gap between life and non-life (split from What if god...)
Why should I judge myself? What for? How do you know that the new day will come? What is the reason for your confidence?
-
Gap between life and non-life (split from What if god...)
This is your subjective opinion. I understood for myself the roots of atheism- responsibility. If there's no God, who will judge your thoughts and actions? No, not good. Wrong.

You are talking this way because you take things for granted. If you wanted to thank that the sun rises every day, and not only for you, but for everyone and everything, who would you thank? Or we don't have to be grateful, do we? How do you know, are you a theologist? Why do you decide for others?

So, does the Earth move or stand still in relation to light?

Heart
Thank you. You explained results of the heartbeat, and i asked about the reasons.

The speed of light
So does the Earth. That's why I ask.
