    Growth Spurt

well, i typed in what you said, and found this: "The average growth spurt lasts 24-36 months. Growth during the year of PHV (peak height velocity) in the normal female averages 9 cm/yr and varies normally from 5.4 cm to 11.2 cm. In the normal male, the PHV averages 10.3 cm/yr and varies normally from 5.8 cm to 13.1 cm." on that same site, i found an equation for predicting the height of males and females. for girls: (fathers height - 13cm) + mothers height) / 2 for boys: (fathers height +13cm) + mothers height) / 2 and you should get a height, and from that height you take + or - 2 inches. but its hard to tell, of course. It seems about right, i got 71'' from the equation, added on 2, and there is my height! but im only 17... and i hope i grow more...

    Growth Spurt

Hey, i was wondering what the height of a normal male growth spurt is (the actual spurt it self) Is it only 1 year - you get this amazing height a year, or can it cover many years? thanks
  4. oh, nice. i checked it out, looks good
  5. yeah, we started Pre Cacl Trig about a week ago. and our last day of learning is June 3rd. Then we have a week of half days, which are finals' days.
  6. hm, thanks We did some trig last year, in geometry, now we are in Pre-Calc, and getting more into it (well, more into it from last year).
  7. Hey there, im a Jr in HS (school year almost over!) and we are doing Trig, but i was wondering what comes after, that uses it. ya know, sin, cos, tan, - i know there is probably alot, but i want to know what i could possibly use it for, or perhaps more importantly build off of. thanks
  8. Hm, not so much an expirment, but when we were disecting in early biology, a frog or turtle, we were going to cut the spleen. well, my friend (or I) didnt have classes on, and when i cut it, a nice blob of spleen juice and preservative stuff (not formaldehyde) got into his eye. after that he wore an apron and goggles.
  9. heh yeah, the only problem is i dont understand how the person could actually LIVE on the couch, unless they had some sort of way that they could get rid of their waste... edit: found a news link: http://www.nbc5.com/news/3646642/detail.html
  10. I dont know if this has been said before, so if it has, sorry. but one theory is that it does end, and where it ends, it begins on the other side. (similar to that video game, where if you go off screen, you return on the opposite side, going in the same direction) so yeah, that way, it can end, but if you go too far, you will end up on the other side, which would make it infinite, in a confined space.
  11. sounds like you are looking for the Oregon Vortex? http://www.oregonvortex.com/
  12. i belive they can stick to something, if they are on it long enough. So much in fact, taht you would have to cut the skin to take it off. an example would be something i read a few months back, an obese person (forget if it was man or woman) pretty much lived on the couch (for 5 years i think) - eventually she had a heart attack (or something where she needed medical assistance) and they had to take the couch with the person, because their skin was stuck to it. yeah, pretty gross, kinda.
  13. Hello everyone, im new here. Im a Jr in High School, and i have taken: physics, bio, and chemistry (which i didnt like that much). and psychology, but you dont have that here it seems (its a social science anyways....) so yeah, i love science, although, the freshman now are taking Electricity in physics, and we didnt do that when we took it but we did get to do Special Relativity! anyways, i think i'll like this place
  14. the only way they can shift back is if you have a tongue thrust. which is when you swallow your tongue pushes against your teeth, if you had that, then your braces would be pointless, for the first time at least. that is what happend to me, then i had to go to an orofacialmyologist (or something along those lines) and he helped me, then i got my braces on again, and now im wearing my retainer
