  2. Thank you, studiot, and thank you, Strange, for you replies . I will tell you why I feel a little embarrassed: - my spelling when I write to you comes mainly as a feature of Ubuntu, it is not my accomplishment; - as I talk to you I almost go literally - I go word for word(my language word- english word) I speak/use my language as a normal man(I don't thing at all, use it as a HABIT), but when I start to look closely at what I say, I see that I don't understand "my first foreign language" more than i understand English; - I first understood Recently the logic of Conditionals in English(there was an excellent web page. Until then i had read many pages on the theme) and THEN i understood Conditionals in "my language" and now i use "english logic" to speak Conditionally in "my language" but if I can i avoid conditionals. As a sign of gratitude I will mention Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (1990) If you haven't seen it already, you probably shall. Gary Oldman, Tim Roth, Shakespeare and something two-sided. I always keep this movie on my computer. Thanks again and have a nice day.
  3. /i don't know how to use "Quote"/ to Airbrush's last post here "The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you've got it made." Groucho Marx Bravo Airbrush!
  4. Hi Hamsundan, Thank you for the interest. I will try to be sort and not boring. I am a practical/rational man and finished school 31 years ago. My limits in mathematics are rational numbers and vectors and I reached them in school. There I studied Russia, English and French, other my friends in different schools studied also Spanish and German. These are languages which are officially taught in state schools. I learnt NOTHING in languages. NOTHING! My computer runs UBUNTU, Firefox and DuckDuckGo. Ubuntu 18.04 is very easy to work with(Ubuntu 16 was difficult for me). I am a great fan of Youtube. There i take english courses and watch almost everything in English and Russian. The best language channel there (for me) is Latintutorial. Why? Because there there is short english course, he deals with grammatical cases in Latin WHICH are the same as in Russian. In short He gives BASIC knowledge for the language as a whole. In that connection i recommend ETYMONLINE (DOT) COM and WIKTIONARY (DOT) ORG. I am most satisfied with these. My favorite math channels are: 3Blue1Brouwn(in its style it is very much like Latintutorial; I have the illusion that these two channels are made form one person), Numberphile and Mathologer. Also for physics I like Fermilab. I don't like to read and write - especially on monitor. For the purpose of studying English and Russian on my ebook- device I read only 3 books( my all time favorites): The Big Sleep, Farewell My Lovely and Мастер и Маргарита. My all time favorite films are: Midnight run and Evil under the sun (1982 with Peter Ustinov; this film PARTICULARLY is the best Poirot film ever. The music is of Cole Porter - that music really tied the film together ;), if you catch my drift ) On these films which i watched dozens of times with/without english subtitles I practice my English. Now why I am here - by accident. I stumbled upon a youtube video and I pose a question in 1 linguistic forum and 3 mathematical forums, one of which is that one. Here, the moderator/I think/ was so kind to reply, so I stayed. The forum is great but as you see I have no mathematical knowledge to be useful here. So soon I will leave. I will stick to Youtube - it is easier for me. Subject + Predicate, I suppose is a mathematical definition for Simple Sentence. But I want to hear clear definition for Grammatical case(only for English, German and Russia - languages which are important to me) and Tense. That is why I am here. I will be glad if you can provide me with some. Thank you again and have a nice day.
  5. Hi, my name is John(in english). I am new here, so Greetings to everyone. My loved series i try to keep on my computer. Now i have only 128 gb disk. So i keep: My name is Earl - all 4 seasons. All seasons i've seen many, many times Death in Paradise but only 1st and 2nd season, because there is chemistry between DI and SI ALF - 1st and 2nd some episodes of Columbo That's all + some films/ Midnight run, Evil under the sun, Rounders, Zero effect, Training day, The Big Lebowski and some other. Great news, Whitney, TBBT, HIMYM, Malcolm... Watch now on tv. These were on the old computer disk Burn Notice, Mentalist, Ground Floor, TBBT, HIMYM were on my hard disk with subtitles and that is how i haven't studied english yet. Despite the efforts. Master i Margarita - all 10 series 6 times watched so far, without any subtitles. This is how i fight with russian language.
  6. Hi there, as I am not a native speaker I think a little bit slowly and there is the problem of exact words to choose. So I wrote it down in LibreOffice Writer and than copped and pasted it. 7. Hi again, Maybe I was too harsh initially, I am so sorry for my inappropriate words so I read it again and that is the result: I saw this: 1. Thing and Connection are Basic Terms and have duality. There is a hint to Russell’s paradox. / attempts for “definitions” and “axioms” / /0 d space is a metaphor for Connection and Thing / 2.There are several types of Connections. I think the definition of Equivalence as a Connection is messed up. But on it Event is defined. 3. Be and Have somehow make a symmetrical pair. 4. Simple sentence is defined on Event. Problem of MEANING is solved . 5. “Simple sentence”, as you see it, is the term Name = Encoding of the Event in sounds or writing. /different Encoding = different languages / There is a whole page on “Simple sentence” which is almost sane. 6. The definition of the Grammatical case is almost okay in the first fourth of the page if you don’t mention the awful handwriting. But only definition for Instrumental case is given. 7. A thing/Divider/ divides Space into subspaces/places/ – some of them are called prepositions, the others differently. That was nice, even OF and WITH have logical meaning. About numbers: 9. Natural number is a Connection over 1 (quality in 0 d). Addition, multiplication and division are here. I don’t know if this is true but page is awfully written. 10. The next page as I understand is about Complex numbers (Vectors in 2 d). Even if these two pages are WRONG this is a nice try of clear separation of Natural numbers and their addition, multiplication and division /just directions of Embedding in 0 d/ AND Complex numbers and their addition and multiplication. About Time in simple sentence: 11. The idea is nice and practical. 0 d fits in. That is only some DRAFT – incomplete and messed up. (down side) A DRAFT trying to use mathematical thinking (up side)
  8. Thanks Strange, Now i do think the author has some mental issues or it is some sort of a prank at his/her expense. The name of the video was intentionally made catchy. There isn't even definition of the Zero dimensional space and the other so called "definitions" of simple sentence, grammatical case, number, and preposition also suck. It awful, thanks again for reply.
  9. Hi guys, recently I stumbled upon this strange video in youtube. I downloaded a 17 page handwritten pdf file from the description which is hard to read. I am not a mathematician nor a linguist and although I have read it I don't know what to think. It looks more like an incomplete exercise or speculations over the grammar of the simple sentence. But numbers and kind of their definitions were involved, which is strange for a grammar work. Here is the link:
