Ok, when I try to install the BF2 demo, it does the install sheild wizard thing. Then as you all know, a little picture comes up saying "Battlefield 2". As soon as that picture loads, an error message comes up saying: "You need to have administrator privileges to run setup."

What is that all about? I am running a Windows ME, and there is no administrator for my home computer.

We have two computers. One is my parent's, the other is mine and my sister's. I play all my games on my computer. I never set up any sort of multiple user thing at all on my computer.

Just to test things out, I downloaded the Empire Earth 2 demo, and installed it. It worket out fine. No error messages, no nothing. Something else is messed up here, but I would still like to know how to make up an administrative account.

This is a very addicting game. So far, In Game A Type B, I have reached the level where there are lots of shock absorbers, balls, and shifting gravity. In Game B type B, I have reached the level where you get launched right next to a green magnet and there is no gravity.

See how well you guys do.

Am I doing it? Because if I am then this is going to have to be postponed for two months (obviously we can still plan it though)... if not then hopefully when I come back from holiday there will already be one and I can take charachters and make a 2nd one.

 

Also if I make an animation with frames/layers/scenes can audio be easily added?

 

And even then mouth/audio synchronization would need to be done after sound. Can you (RedAlert) do the animation?

There will be a minimum of two of animators. I can do Flash Animation.

[edit'] I can't use sound yet either though! But assuming you just put them in as a layer all by themselves and they just play in the background it really can't be too complex... I'm sure I could find an online tutorial, premade music is readily available, I can record stuff on a microphone and I've got a talking program which I can program words into.

Don't worry about the sound, alt-f13 has agreed to help us. His work is very professional.

Just to add I feel charachters are the strongest thing we need.... BUT if we are going to make the mouths move with speech then we either need seperate mouths or just the same picture with say 3 different mouth positions (open' date=' closed, and making an "oooh" sound) to make it more realistic, or we could not synchronise mouths and audio in which case whatever you want.

Synchronisation is a bit toooo much. Just a little syncronisation will be good.

It has come to my attention, that we do have a few animators here, but not all of them are very good artists. Thus, I feel that we need some artists to help us out.

We need very simple characters to be drawn out and possibly coloured for us. We also need some backgrounds and other objects. We would appreciate all help that you give us.

Your first job (for all those who are willing), is to start drawing basic sketches of the characters outlined in the "Characters" thread. Post the drawings here.

Interesting....I am guessing it would be very expensive? It would need a huge amount of programming, art work, etc. etc.....hence it will also have a huuuugggeeee price tag.

But I would still love to try it. I like the Star Trek part of the game

As you all know, we are creating a flash animation based on SFN. However, to do that, we need flash animators. If you think you can do flash, create a small flash animation (10-15 seconds long) and post it here. We (Phi for All and me) will choose the best flash animators to do the job of flash animating.

So, let your imagination roll and show us your animating skills!

RedAlert' date=' have you given any thought to running time? I think anything over about three minutes would be too ambitious.

 

Also, how much plot are you looking for? Is the idea of SFN members doing verbal and physical battle with various trolls enough or are you looking for more? Should we wait till after Memorial Day for everyone who wants a character to post? I would like the cast set before scripting.

 

Does everyone remember these likenesses are going to be very simple, ala South Park? Do you still think that style is the way to go? I thought it best since I have no idea how good flash animation can get, or how good our people are. I've seen some people going way beyond the basic facial features descriptions, mentioning height, multiple weapons, etc. I think we'll want to put some limits on detail so we don't get too bogged down.

 

There have been a novel and a musical that didn't get past the planning stages, probably because they tried to go way overboard on details from many ideas put forward and were faced with the monumental task of incorporating them all. Lots of people have lots of ideas about what they'd like to see, but in the end it's going to be just a few people putting it all together.

 

Can we set up some kind of org chart so we know who's doing what and when? Who can do the drawings? We need continuity between the character styles so it would be great to pick one and have all the artists duplicate it. Who can do the flash stuff? Can more than one person work on that or is it better for one?

Ok give me some time with it all. I have exams in a month now so I am concentrating a lot on them and not able to come on SFN all the time. But I will try to answer these questions by tomorrow.
