  1. the most common isotope of platinum is not radioactive. I didnt know there was a radioactive isotope for platinum. It should be there at the bottom. Maybe it has something to do with its catalitic (being a catalyst in several reactions) properties. This is the only thing i can think of. Anyway, i thought iridium was the most noble metal known.

    space shuttle

sooner or later boeing will get into the game.
  3. my connections here get refused alot also. WTF My isp is comcast.net
  4. platinum is just a catalyste, thats why. it gives the reactants a good surface (i think) to react on, thus reducing the heat energy needed to start the reaction. From here, its a chain reaction that ignites the other H2/O2 mix.
  5. yes, we were discussing computer manufaucters, not politics.
  6. if you drip it in paraffin oil it should be fine. Anyway, akcapr, you forgot to mention to cut off one side when heating the battery
  7. remember, this is an incredibly powerful reaction. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF OXYGEN! (especialy when mixed with H2)

  9. Fisrt off all, you sent me a personal message to inform me of your "dell bashing" post. I realy dont know what top say about that. Second, dells are not made outside the US. In your post you said, "the computer industry is all the same", but your post COMPLETELY contradicts this. A 14in screen is a normal size laptop screen. The last few dyaas ive used an Averatec with a 12 inch screen, and it gets very comfortable. If a user nnever plays games on his computer (like me) he will never need a good graphics card. To me, computers with integrated processors are just fine. The cybers are so cheap probaly becuase thay are made up of crap or surplus parts. It is probaly made up of all no-name parts. The shipping is probaly not free. Its just included in the price of the cheap ass computer to make you think your getting a good system. The only reason you dont like dells is becuase this is what ALL hard core LAN party nerds think. Its just one of those things, like how people who drive chevy's generaly dislike Fords or Dodge's.
  10. When i reformated it was my first time reformating our desktop, so i kinda didnt know what i was doing. Ok, so heres the deal. I now have two partitions with win xp on them. Although, the second (first one there) doesnt boot up anymore. I think the partition got deleted but something was left behind or something that causes it to stil appear on the OS choice menu. Anyway, i need some kind of partition software to delete this partition. I dont think there is much data on this second partition. If anyone knows of any freewarem or something, please tell me.
  11. I got an awesome deal on my laptop i just bought (there "building" it now). The total price with out shipping or tax was 1,261. I bought a 1,840$ computer for 1,261$! Heres the specs: Inspiron 600m Pentium®M Processor 745(1.80 GHz/400MHz FSB)14.1-in SXGA+ w/64MB Video, Microsoft® Windows® XP Home 1GB DDR SDRAM 2 Dimm 80GB Hard Drive (probaly just a 5000 or so rpm HD) Integrated Modem and NIC Internal 56K Modem and Integrated Network Card Wireless Personal Networking Card Dell™ TrueMobile™ 300 Bluetooth Internal Card Netgear WGR614 Cable/DSL Wireless Router Optical 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer write capability Wireless Networking Card Intel® PRO/Wireless 2915 Internal Wireless (802.11 a/b/g, 54Mbps) Id say this is an awesome deal!
  12. I was going to wait to buy my laptop, so i wouldnt have to upgrade to "vista". I then found it to be in the middle of next year so i siad screw it, im notr waiting that long when i have the money. SO i bought my laptop and it will ship (dell) aug 1st. Anytway, how much wil vista cost new? like 300$? Also, my laptop is pretty loaded (1900$) so it should run vista fine/ It has a 1.8gh pentium dothan M, 1 gig ram, SXGA 14 inch screen with 64mb video (the one thing im worried about, but 64 mb isnt bad for a laptop) DVD burner (with double layer) and an 80gb HD. 2915 intel pro wireless, and internal bluetooth. Im curios as to what vista wil be like, I mean, xp seems to have been around forever now. Last night i was looking at linux stuff, and found "linspire". Seems kinda like xp (from what i can see in the screen shots and tutorial things). I would definetly try it but it cost 60$ so whatever.
  13. I just bought a DELL 600m. I cant wait. I had to say that becuase you said you were getting a laptop. Anyway, you should try selling some off the stuff on ebay, especialy the RAM. I would seriously consider the 30gb seagate, but our only computer is the family computer, and ive just purchased a laptop, so this would be of no use to me.
  14. its a wing screw? Do you mean a wingnut?
  15. So if i take my geiger counter to the thrift store, im wondering, maybe ill find some radium clocks or something!
  16. if your going on terms of things just being reactive, then id say F.
  17. what is that, a bar of soap? The ice bullet and meat bullet was attempted on mythbusters, but not the pykrite (sawdust ice) bullet.
  18. thats what i was just thinking, WHAT THE HELL IS THIS THREAD ABOUT ANYWAY!
  19. Its like how H2O can dissolve MgCl but not CaCO I think those are the same polarity.
  20. the sawdust ice mixture would be less likely to vaporize in a gun barrel becuase it melts far slower than normal ice.
  21. why dont you just get a cat5e cable, and connect the computers together with their RJ45 (ethernet) ports and run windows file transfer wizard. Seems the cheapest and easiest way to do it.
  22. H2SO4
