    I'd say it's acting like an acid since it's loosing it's H+. Though I haven't delt with this kinda question before so It be nice if someone could confirm this.

     

    **Though on the other hand it's not really acting like a Lewis acid since there really isn't any net gain or loss of electrons for the O or the H or the P. Really all that's happening is the OH swapping one covalent bond to it's hydrogen for one to the Phosphorus. P and H have almost identical electronegativities with P being higher but insignificantly so.**

     

    Acid would be my answer though.

  2. Aparently lifestyle has alot to do with it as well. As men and womens lifestyles have been changing life expectancy for men in catching up to women. Both are increasing but the rate that it's increasing for men is almost double that for women. This phenomenon has been observed in most first world countries. I don't remember the link to the US study but here's a report from sweden, it says about the same thing in that respect.

    Not to say that there isn't some biological basis for it as well.

    SO3+NH3 will not react' date=' will they? perhaps they would work H2O+N2+S. anyone know? if not, a water molecule would be useful. i could imagine this fuming liquidy goodness to be a formidable mixture. imagine the enthalpy change from addition of water. first there is the energy release when the components are dissolved, then immediately the strong acid/base reaction.

    I think you're right. CsOH + SO3 ---> HCsSO4

     

    CsOH would most likely mimic water in the way it hydrates the SO3

  4. Well I have a question too!! If the entire process can b done and done efficeintly by an embronic stem cell then y is the need for an adult stem cell research(don't consider the ethical part)

     

    For the same reason as any research of course. To advance the body of scientific research. Adult stem cells act differently and therefore provide oportunities for research. :P

     

    If the stem cell research can cure and regrow the defective tissues then why is it still not used extensively in the cure of Diabetes??

     

    Because stem cell research is still in it's infancy and it will be a few years till clinical trials even begin. It is only an emerging medical technology, these things take time to develop properly and safely.

    Serious, I couldn't even force myself to read more than two paragraphs without getting a headache. But maybe that's the trick use so many meaningless sentenses and it will force people to find their own meaning in it, making it sounds like you're actually saying much more than you are. Please if you mean to write sceince and expect people to respond then write like a normal human being.

     

    However if your intention is to write art, then call it poetry and leave it at that.

A lot of the other projects (if you read the abstracts) seem not as goal-oriented, but just concentrating on certain techniques without a definitive goal.     Mnnn hmmm Exactley what i was thinking.

     

    I think it has the greatest potential to yeild very insightful and significant results. These results will most likely lead to a lot of other interesting potential research projects as well. It's nice to do something that you can see being expanded on, or leading somewhere.

    You're probably not adopted. Say one parent is OA and the other is OB this gives the possibility of these combinations in their offspring:

    OO

    AB

    OA

    OB

     

    O is recessive so they could have sired children with phenotypes O, AB, A and B

    So in conclusion without knowing your parents phenotype your siblings could have any blood group.

    So one of your parents are probably A and the other is B.

    if the hydrogen was to leave with the electrons yeah it would have a positive charge but this wouldn't happen.

     

    Just to clear it up but what would likely happen is the hydrogen would remain, the nitrogen would then have a positive formal charge. This hydrogen would then be acidic and could easily be lost leaving behind a lone pair.

  10. The first one is wrong. They screwed up the mechanism. There should be one less hydrogen on the carbon. The hydroxyl subtracts the hydrogen to give water and a double bond forms stabalising the carbon. The oxygen is left with a negative charge.

     

    Yeah the question is messed up. Just count the number of hydrogens there is an imbalance.

  11. Yeah you could redraw it and move the hydrogens to positions that make it easier to visulize if that helps, just don't flip them to the other face of the ring.

     

    But it's not necessary really. All you have to realize is that the hydrogens are on the same side of the plane of the molecule and the alcohol groups are on the other side of the plane.

  12. It's hard to see because of how it was drawn, visualizing the 3d representation in your head shows how it's meso.

     

    Here I've made a 3d render of it. Omiting unnecessary hydrogens.

     

    As you can see it's meso. It contains two chiral centre's but the molecule is actually achiral because of how their arranged.
