  1. There was no thread on cryptology, so I decided that the highest level math forum would do. Has anyone here taken any cryptology courses, and if so, could you please tell me which books you used if you remember? thank you.
  2. Yeah Ive seen the problems they have there... Maybe in 20 years Ill come back to them
  3. YES! Definatly do this. I am exhausting alot of math problem sites. MENSA.org has a pretty good weekly(i think) "work-out" which is also rather challenging, and I used to do them before i started calc. Now I plan to learn Calc 1 over the next 4 weeks, take a test so I can skip it and take calc 2 over the summer, and then the next class after that at college while im a senior in High School. So I should be able to do your calc challenge problems soon.
  4. Yeah then I will definatly talk to my teacher about the calc of chem for you. But as someone said before, calc is more prominent in college physcis, since Issac Newton came up with calculus(some uncertainty about that, but most books seem to accept it), but whatever he did, he was definatly a pioneer in Calculus.
  5. If you haven't already written your paper, chemistry also has many uses for calculus. I will find them by tommorow and let you know. So if you have any interest in chemistry, this topic might be a good essay topic for you.
  6. Do you go to UWmadison? Thats where I plan on going(possibly), since I live in the same state as you(Wisconsin). Thanks for the info. I will check it out.
  7. I am stuck in the eigth circle of hell, also known as Pre-calc. I got some calc books (& Organic Chem ) books from the library, but I wanted to know if anyone has used any good year-1 calc books or knows the ones they use at prestigious universities. The one I have now is the one that MIT uses for its year-1 calc students. Thank you
  8. Whatever you do, DONT TAKE PRECALC! Save yourself... I allowed myself to get sucked into the trap, and now I am stuck in a room where time is infinatly slow... Just take calc. Right now in pre-calc I'm just doing calculus and the teacher isnt too happy, but who cares...
