I was dowloading something off of a website today and i clicked on a link and guess what. I got a big fat virus. A good one too i must admit cause i've spent all freaking day trying to get rid of it and just will not go away .

 

It's called the backdoor.haxdoor virus i think. i've tried everything' date=' ad-aware, spybot, stinger, symantec, but if anyone has anysuggestions, then that would be great.[/quote']

No worries though,just make sure you always scan before opening files.Invest in a good AV like mcafee.Trust me on that one.

Hi' date=' I am wondering if anyone knows of any good data and file recovery software (free, and fully functional) that works in that it looks for deleted files (particularly files from another user on this same computer, as I deleted my old user-account for Windows XP) and finds everything from that user account.

 

I also have an already recovered *.zip file, however, the file is unopenable presently by simply attempting to open it, so I am wondering if anybody knows how to receive the files that are in a seemingly "corrupted" zip file, as the file appears to contain some or all of the files, but it simply doesn't open up in winzip (or, at least it didn't when I tried). So, is there some other method of deencryption or something necessary to converting an [i']undeleted[/i] file, such as a zip file, to being functional or salvagable? I would like the files in the zip file, and zip file is some several megabytes in size, so I do believe that the material and adata exists in it, I just don't personally know what to do about it and how to receive it apart from seeking help.

The way you have constructed your post has led me to believe you are attempting to retrieve someone elses deleted files.The good news is you certainly dont need any fancy software to accomplish this,or to open/repair corrupt zip files.

The bad news is its very devious and disrepectful of others privacy to attempt this.I think this should be best left alone.If im being too cynical forgive me but reading your post you have obviously lost nothing of great value.Accept you have learned a lesson(hard drives fail)and make backups of important files.

People accidents not withstanding,would be guaranteed to live longer.We would simply have too great a percentage of elderly populus,to maintain economic stability.We already have problems as it is.

The two RAM sticks need to be compatable with each other... e.g. if one is pc3200 the other must be.

mmm...Not really as long as its DDR......if you have two different sticks in all it means is your whole ram runs at the lower speed eg pc2700(not that you would want to)...I think your motherboard should also have 2 slots for Sdram.

Yes usually the comp version is printed on the tower eg dell 4550...you also get manuals and a print out of all relevant serials(if by any chance you dont have this all serials are on the back of the tower case)

Yes of course you can just get a stick of 128mb to go with your 256mb but really the price of ram now(which you know changes daily up /down)and the difference between them is marginal,so i recommend you spend the few extra pounds and buy 512mb to go with your 256mb memory.

For XP and gaming you really need more ram,1024mb.

You wont actually feel the benefits,but your computer will.Anyway ram is inexpensive at the moment so buy some.

I just dont think the pope was the bee all and end all. He lived to a good age and had wanted for nothing, in short he had a good life. Mother Theresa on the other hand was a totally different kettle of fish, and deserved all the love and praise she got for dedicating her life to helping people of all walks of life.

Everyones entitled to opinion however its usually beneficial if one actually reads something factual about the man in question.

Hectar your monitor has a refresh rate within ranges of 60-85 hz.You may be able to see this if you look away from the monitor slightly.

Although this is fast enough that the eye doesnt really notice,it is significant and causes eye strain and headaches in some people.Unfortunate but you perhaps should take more breaks away from your computer.

(if you have ever seen on television a tele or computer you can see this constant flickering)hope that helps.

See i agree with most of this post.Mainly because its everyday life in the Newtonian household.Every child asks questions and goes on and on (sometimes i find myself in competition with my two yr old daughter"can i have choc choc...no..yes..no.yes.no.yes"! she never gives me any ).

Why would an atheist want to post in a religious thread anyway? neither party is going to be converted,it appears to me the only intention is to antagonise.
