I was wondering if anyone knew if the colored solution of Glucose and Bennedict's indicator had an absortion in any area of the EM spectra that varied based upon the amount of glucose in the solution?

I have a few molecules I'm "iffy" about the IUPAC names for, if anyone can help me out. Here's the first one... The name I came up with is 1-chloro-3-ethyl-7(1-methylethyl)-6-methyldec-4-ene

It may not belong totally to this forum, but does anyone know what happens to solutions containing "amonia" among other things (cleaning solutions) in the precense of radiant heat (microwave)? Thanks a lot in advance.

Considering this reaction, I have a handful of things I need to do with it. I can handle most of them, but there are a few I'm having trouble with. 1. Write the balaneced equation for this. 2. Draw curved arrow mechanism For balancing the equation, do I ignore the reactants on the arrow? Ie, would it just be the propanone + Cl and the chloropropanone (forgive my naming,,!!). And for the curved arrow mechanism, I haven't the foggiest on how to get started. Obviously, I need to pull off that methyl group on the right, and put a Cl. Can I use the -OH to pull off the hydrogens? I would appreciate any help in this, I am totally stuck!

I consider, geometry of crystals gives for us strong case to suppose, that atoms have polyhedron’s form (in contrast to current hypothesis, that atoms are composed of ball-nucleons and of shapeless clouds of electronic probability). At present I research for geometry of hydrogen and carbon atoms. Exact data about atomic structure of elementary organic molecules must help me in the task solution, but I have no appropriate scientific literature. I hope for help of forum! See attach file. http://www27.brinkster.com/radiosity/molecule.htm There it is [you'll have to download the chime plugin if you don't already have that -- you may have to ctrl-refresh to get it show up. The jpg will display fine, though.]. I'm pretty stumped here. Only a sophomore in highschool =P. Help / Hints appreciated -- thanks -- Chemistry is pretty fascinating to me, but the teacher is kind of boring. EDIT: After a bit of research, I'm think that this is probably caffeine. Am I correcT?
