To solve that problem, you make thousands of independent groups(all the leaders have been MCed by you), and you have them start up and mind control in a seemingly indepedent fashion.

This leads to the illusion there is no one controlling force.

That way you can simply takeover all at once.

The problem of being found out and stopped, well, the way you solve that is you make sure your groups don't cause any problems, until you've got 90 percent of the population under your control.

If it's secret, and nobody knows whose in one of these groups, and whose not, and the group requirements essentially don't require you to impose on your societal standards, then nobody will bother you, nobody will care.

It may take 50 years however, due to the fact that it takes time to takeover a population in this fashion.

As for the unbiased teams, I'm still trying to decide between dolphins and squirrel monkeys, or maybe both  .

*Mindlessly hums/sings "so long, and thanks for all the fish..."* :D Sorry, couldn't resist. Don't forget your towel!

But, seeing as we are sposed to be on topic now, why take over a small country when you could just make your own? *Evil laugh* I'm sure some refugees would be more than happy to join you in exchange for some quality of living. Problem is, where's your base?
