hey guys,

 

i am a gcse student,

 

so i kinda get that insecticides and herbicides are a type of pesticide?

 

but what is the main difference between all of 3

The "cide" suffex means "killer"... So an insecticide is an insect killer and herbicide a herb (plant) killer. Pesticide is general to cover most pests, like insects, weeds etc..

 

You also get the same suffix with other words too, like biocide (killer of biological organisms), matricide (the killing of ones own mother), infanticide etc... Although infanticide is an act.... not an in can spay unfortunately. ;-)
