Photon energy and movement

Featured Replies

I was wondering if it is possible to create movement on three dimensional plane utilizing purely photon energy. Would it make any sound? How powerful could it be and what would the "size to force" be?

Not exactly sure what you mean.

Can we use photons to move matter around? Sure. Laser cooling and trapping relies on that. Photons have momentum of E/c, and since atoms can absorb/emit photons rapidly, you can generate hundreds or even thousands of g's of acceleration on atoms with resonant light.

And solar pannels convert light energy (photons) into electrical energy for use anywhere on anything (within reason).
