I have been given the project of making a radar for detecting Narc Aircrafts.

Any info words ideas about how to do this (please something usefull)

most of these aircrafts are cessna like and dc-x like.

How much can you spend? You could probably get a marine unit to work.

Haven't but i was thinking in optics as well, but hmmm computer rasterization of the images and processing.. i'll try to get some info about lidar

LIDAR wouldn't be suited for that. It says that LIDAR can detect clouds and such... meaning it can't shine though them to detect a plane behind them.

it would be for the mexican borders, clear most all the time.

Well, you could probably pick up a former soviet LOWBLOW or other such unit. Hard times breed bargain basement prices.
