pharmacologically lsd is completely harmless, it's completely out of your system within a day, and has no permanent effects. Also due to the extrremely small dosage size, impurities are not a significant factor. As for mushrooms, I'm not as familiar with studies but I suspect contamination is more of a factor, and receptor depletion may be occuring (versus in lsd, which is a reuptake inhibitor).

However psychologically, LSD can be dangerous if you're not careful and well prepared for the effects.
