activate materials surface

Featured Replies

Dear friends

I've synthesized alumina foams with nice open porosities and also good mechanical strength. As you know the specific surface area of such material is very low (~2 m2/g). My question from you, chemists, is that how I can improve the specific surface area of this material to high values such as 800m2/g to use it as absorbers.

?

Any useful help is really appreciated.

Thanks all

Are you hoping to use this for filtering your acid fumes from your other thread?

Nope.

Actually this is for another project.

BTW, do you have any idea to use this material (ceramic foam) for the previous thread (acid fumes)?

Anyway, any useful idea about answering the first post is really appreciated.
