I suspect it is the way it is contested rather than the fact that it is contested. If someone uses good quality evidence to discuss the topic, then no one will object. For some reason, those opposing AGW struggle to find any evidence to support their view (I wonder why?). But making silly comments (like the above) is not very constructive.
