Online Android Development Environment?

Featured Replies

So, a friend of mine is having a few troubles, and I recommended him maybe starting to get into app development and see if he can go from there. However, he has problems because of the limited technology he has to work with. Therefore, he has to rely on online alternatives because of the memory on his device.

Is there an online android sdk environment that would allow him to program without dealing with extra software on his device?

I suppose so, he already installed Android Emulator?

That's probably the first thing people do after SDK..

The last time (2-3 years ago IIRC) we installed Android v2.2 emulator on PC (it's still installed on my server machine), and it was working tragedy..

You have to remember it has to emulate either different CPU, and GPU, and whole OS..

It was faster to upload app to real phone, than start up emulator..

If he has not the fastest PC on the Earth, he might be disappointed.

Anyway try emulator from the link above. Maybe with v4 it will be working better than I remembered it..
