Question: what are if any the differences in brain activity between adults and children when using imagination.

If so, I could only say that adults tend to have stronger prefrontal inhibitions as a result sociocultural experiences, but I suspect that's not the type of detailed answer you're seeking.

Since the brain of a children isn't fully mature, imagination is probably essential to the development of the brain.
