Could Sharks be attracted to Cages?

Featured Replies

The cage divers use to observe sharks on occasions are in essence Faraday cages. If you ran a current through them, would it attract sharks because of their ability to sense electrostatic discharge? Or would they ignore it because of their other senses not noticing any disturbances?

Just an idle curiosity.

Sharks are quite sensitive to electric fields, metal in salt water usually sets up an electrical field, I would say it's a possibility...
