I'm updating my address book...........

Featured Replies

Anybody go the following email?

Hi

I am updating my address book and it would be very helpful if you could click on

the link below and enter your contact details for me:

I am using a service that keeps contact details current. Just update your own

contact details and then the changes appear in selected friends' address books.

When I update my contact details you will see them in your address book.

Thank you for helping.

Sarah

its off so many people i think its a virus. yes?

I got one too. Going to phone my friend and check at a more sociable time (i.e. in about 10 hours).

I get plenty of those. NEVER Fill them in. If your fren wants the contact details, he will contact you directly.

I've got about 5 of those.

They are not viruses, it is a genuine service that will collect information similar to an online address book, at the same time I have never filled one in because it forces you to register and I do not know the websites policy about customer detail privacy.

Yes i got one of those. Its just some company spamming for regisration, ignore it.

at the same time a lot of people are using them and they are becoming a popular company.

It's a rather clever idea, because once you get a few people interested, they're going to e-mail their friends to sign up, and then they'll e-mail their friends, etc. They've gotta have a lot of users by now if (seemingly) most of the people I know both online and irl have got these e-mails. Plus it seems to be quite a useful service. However, I already have my address book online :)

and to add yourself to someone else's address book you have to register which means you then have your own account and probably get prompted to enter your friend's email so they can mail them too.
