security authentication levels

Featured Replies

I was just thinking about computer security (authentication section) for a while and after examining all the security measures used for authentication I find the following:

Username and password

Magnetic cards + passwords

Username and password + voice recognition

Username and password + voice rec. + fingerprint auth.

Usern. & pass. + voice r. + fingerprint auth. + eye auth.

and that's about it, as much as I could come up with... can't recall any more, so if there are any other forms please add them.

i also thought of a possible new addition to the auth. security and that be the signature of the user. i'm not sure if this already exists or not but it just occured to me that it might be a good idea.

well a PIN (personal identification number) can be used in conjunction with a password.

keys can be used... some electronic switches, rather than being a push or toggle switch you have to turn a key.

i suppose you could have a signature scanner and software comparator.
