ForeignHorse
Nutrients are always transported through phloem downwards right? But in this case, the answer given is D sugars upwards. Why is it upwards instead of downwards ? Does the water in this case going upwards too? I am a little bit confused. Hope to get some explanation. Thanks ) Edited January 23, 2014 by ForeignHorse
CharonY
Nutrients are always transported through phloem downwards right? Why would you think that is the case? More precisely what is the mechanism of nutrient transport through the phloem, what determines direction? (Hint: check mass flow hypothesis).
