Evidence of Structured Pervasive Shaping Factors

Recommended Posts

Evidence of This post is intended to alert readers to an exciting new 'discovery' the implications of which are open for consideration. This discovery is of the presence of pervasive shaping factors which 'show' their structure and organization through their influence on plastic and flowable matter. The units of evidence left by these shaping factors are referred to, here, as “leavings,” and these appear in the shape of “V” or “Λ.” As “Λ” appears the more two-dimensionally stable figure, leavings will be presented and illustrated as such. The relationships among leavings demonstrate fractal development, and a leaving-rich surface may show seemingly florid 'patterns' constructed of many occurrences and 'stylistic' manifestations of lambda.

One of the best places to find evidence of the shaping factors here under consideration is everyday concrete. In the first attached photo below, one might see suggestions of a tapestry or Eastern rug beneath the several arrows. Looking closely, each arrow can be seen to point to the apex of some variety of lambda shape (arrows point opposite directions as the Λs). In the second photograph, an example of a leaving demonstrating some fractal development is shown. The upper arrow indicates the peak of the main leaving under consideration, while a smaller 'attached' leaving is pointed out by the arrow to the left hand side. “R,” “L,” and the like lower case letters indicate the right and left 'arms' of each leaving.

In addition to concrete, leavings may be identified in carpeting, grass, sand, or any flowable or plastic substance and at every larger and smaller absolute size. One must simply develop 'an eye' for them and they will 'pop out' everywhere. Perusing maps, one will find that they even occur at the level of mountain ranges and other geological features. They can be found while browsing “microscopic” on Google Images. To read more about leavings, to see examples in numerous mediums, and to learn more about their fractal development, please visit http://shapesofgravity.com.

Of known influences, perhaps the best candidate for the impetus behind the formation of leavings is what we term “gravity.” The appearance of leavings might be an imposition of mere existence. Whether gravity is the factor responsible for leavings is beside the point, as all matter presumably functions gravitationally.

That's a very posh title.

I can just about make out some marks on the concrete surface on your photos.

What are you proposing that is special (ie more than just random marks) about them?

Why do you think that zig zag shapes cannot arise randomly, in a similar fashion to the leylines fallacy?

Incidentally a small tip:

It is always a good idea (and conventional) to include a scale in technical pictures. I used to use a plastic ruler obtainable from young children's shops when I used to photograph concrete features. This has highly coloured centimetre and decimetre sections, which is adequate for concrete.

go well
