Dirac notation

Recommended Posts

How does one enter dirac bra kets in Latex? From the net it seemed I should use \ket{00} but this got me a syntax error.

BTW - protip: unless you are alone and have some time to kill do not search on latex bra ket

I usually use | \psi \rangle to get [math] | \psi \rangle [/math].

Along similar lines you can use \langle \phi | \psi \rangle giving [math] \langle \phi | \psi \rangle [/math] when you need an inner product.

It's cumbersome, but the words "rangle" and "langle" make me smile.

That's how I usually do it too. Although , one could always skip the LaTeX and use Unicode for the greek and just |> for the rest.
