If I remember correctly from psychology, that part of the brain is known as the hypocampus.

I know stimulus can cause us to remember somthing, but how do we think about remembering?

I don't exactly understand what that is asking.

I don't exactly understand what that is asking.

Same as above.

So then is hippocampus (checked the spelling this time) satisfactory?

umm... I think , when you admit a memory it gets tagged with several types of data, visual..smell...texture...emotion...meaning etc....so it's not stored in one area alone.

is that what you mean?

No, not accessing memory, but trying to remember. Like trying to remember the name of someone. What part of the brain would be used?

I think it called "working memory". Working memory processes and encordes the "name of someone". The "name" will be held in the working memory store for short time. However, for long term use, you have to save it into "temporary memory" - hippocampus while awake; and pass it to the long-term memory when sleep. Check this paper :)

I think I found a way to saymy question correctly: which part of the brain is in charge of retrieving memory.
