hmmm, normally you can fix slinkys with thought, planning and time.... ive only once seen one that i couldnt repair and that was because the plastic was physically twisted in the wrong direction, it went back, but the plastic was a bit wonky and it was never the same again!

awwww!

 

I did hear however about self healing polymers and metals.

 

And metals that always snapped back to their original positions.

 

What if a plastic could do that?
