Dreaming while awake

Featured Replies

I have had dreams while being awake.

I need help, I have looked on the internet I can's really find anything that pertains to my experiences.

On more than one occasion, I will be wide awake.. I will all of the sudden have a "flashback" of a dream that I've already had. I know that I've already had the dream because once the "flashback" starts I remember. It's so intense I can't focus on anything around me. I'm having the dream playback in my head like I'm asleep and dreaming it all over again. I definitely feel like I'm not in this world anymore while this is happening. I'm completely mobile, I can move around and talk but it's not the same. Most of the time I grab my face and close my eyes and wait for it to be over. It's such an overwhelming and intense feeling and I cant control it when it's happening and I also can not make it happen. Once it's over, I don't remember any of the dream at all. I have no idea what's going on. Can anyone give me their opinion? I would highly appreciate it. THANK YOU :]

If I were in your situation I would go see my local family doctor, and that is what I recommend you do. I expect your doctor will refer you to a specialist who will investigate your problem, provide you with reassurance and provide appropriate treatment.

To echo Griffon, a science chat forum is not the appropriate place to get medical advice...go and see your doctor.
