Moon and buildings to make energy?

Featured Replies

Does the moon have a pulling effect on a big object, like a building?

I know it attracts the sea to make tides.

What if a skyscraper was built on pistons? Would the moon pull and rease

the building, thereby moving the pistons to create energy?

Thanks.

Yes, there are solid-earth tides, roughly a third to a half the size of typical ocean tides (solid earth not being as fluid as water). The problem with the idea is that the earth pulls on the underlying ground as well as the building. They will move the same amount.

interesting question man. great aswer to! were going to find a way to make renewable energy i bet!
