solitons or prticles?

Featured Replies

I have been reading articles about solitons,is there a good reason why I should not be thinking of sub atomic particles as solitons or perhaps better as oscillons?

Solitons can behave like classical particles, and thus once quantized these solitons should be thought of as contributing to the particle spectrum of the quantum field theory.

However, there is no theory available to us that that describes all the fundamental particles in nature in all circumstances as solitons.
