SYNTHESIS OF ORGANIC COMPOUND

Featured Replies

I really have a little difficulty on this topic 'Synthesis of Organic Compound from alkyne and alkene'. I need some help please. I would like to know about the rules on how you can get either aldehyde or carboxylic acid, ketone or what. Thank you.

There are so many possible reactions to do that eventually end up in alcohols/diols, aldehydes, ketones, alhp-beta unsaturated ketones etc etc. You could even make chlorides or nitrides and hydrolyse to get such products.. Do you want anything specific? Or just general reactions (hydrogenation, epoxidation, etc)?

yes please. also i have this question on the importance of millon's test and the reactions it has.

Start here.

Then google 'millons test'. Start by reading the (very short) wiki article, and then from what you learn there google some of the key words and see if you can't work out its importance on your own. If you get stuck i'll give you some more help.
