Could (NH4)2SO4 replace KNO3 or other oxidizers

Featured Replies

it isn`t, although it`s great as a compost accererant :)

Ammonium Nitrate make a lousey replacement too when bellow it`s critical diameter (10cms If I rem correctly) it`s also hydroscopic and thus dreadful in pyro use.

Hey, wasn't ammonium nitrate the stuff that cools things? You know, put it in water and the temperature will drop dramatically. Or then I'm just eating too much weird mushrooms out of our backyard, again.

it will indeed cool upon the addition of water, it`s even exploited in Sports as cooling packs :)
