My radio was producing distorted sounds, but when I brought my hand near its antenna the voice became clear.Can anyone explain the reason?

in effect you`re acting as an antenna and being coupled to the existing one use the air as a dielectric in a human/metal capacitor :)

is that why I have memories of holding the antenna during nascar races?
