My lecturer made no mention of it at all, what so ever and this information is hard to find in any textbooks i own or even on google. Thankyou in advance! (I also cant contact my lecturer.) At one time, characteristics of growth in the respective medium were considered in microbial identification. Other than that, these are just convenient means of culture, usually of pure cultures - deeps and some broths esp. useful for anaerobes. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Slants can be used to increase surface area for growth and are good for storage. As are deeps. Broths are good for growing culture.
