center of what?

Obviously they are referring to the center of the particular body of which gravity is effecting (gravity effects every body, some of these bodies gravatational pulls are almost unditectable).

Yes ,I meant center of every thing e.g earth,moon,etc.

If you can answer that question in a way which is fully consistent with Quantum Mechanics, you will get a Nobel Prize...

we could use the answer the standard model uses for things like charge: "It just does."

The Standard Model doesn't even explain why charge is quantized....
