compton effect

Featured Replies

why xray is used in compton effect rather than uv ray?

Probably got to do with the energies involved.

You get compton scattering for a free electron because the electron can't absorb the photon — energy and momentum can't both be conserved. So for a bound electron, for which photon will it "look" more like a free electron?
