Ahamed, I read your posts on lie detection techniques, and I didn't see any evidence whatsoever. What do you have in the way of scientific evidence to back up your many claims?

I agree. There is no solid evidence that such technology exists today. Maybe some prototypes are in development but a commercial product doesn't exist.

Police sometimes say that liars give themselves away by becoming more muted in their expression of dramatic events than a truth-telling subject would normally be. This arises from an exaggerated attempt to seem casual over something that is in fact invented. Liars also tend to repeat their lies with the same verbal formulation each time, since they have constructed them as a linguistic formula. In contrast, truthful people tell their stories differently each time, since they are matching language to actual memories, and the matching is not the same each time.

 

The best way to detect a liar is to confront them with some highly detailed question about the fabricated event which they would certainly have noticed if it were real, but which they probably would not have invented if they were just putting together a story. Their hesitation in answering the question always gives them away.

 

Conversely, the key to being an effective liar is always to equip yourself in advance with more details about your made-up story than anyone is likely to ask about, including some counter-intuitive details, since reality is always more surprising than fiction. Since reality is also always considerably denser in detail than fiction, the liar is necessarily at a disadvantage, however.
