Is there any way to get a grant or scholarship just for books alone or some other way to get books if you don't have the money for them?

I believe there is a thread somewhere on the board where somone has electronic copies of hundreds of textbooks.

Other than that I guess I can't help, sorry.

Okay, does anyone know where I can find them?

Probably, talk to your school. It obviously depends on where you live etc etc.

Well, libraries, obviously. Also consider that you can get decent textbooks pretty cheap by getting them second hand directly from students who are further along and don't need them any more.

I highly recommend you try this before handing over lots of money for a brand new book. Most universities will have a second-hand book shop and you also see lots of adverts for textbooks on notice boards.

1. Interlibrary loans (ask librarians how it works)

2. Using craigslist

3. Using half.com / ebay / book auction websites

4. Digital reprography (legal if conducting research)
