what books do you reccomend

I want to read 5 books on each of these subjects, what 5 do you recommend of each? I was thinking about one book of the basics, then 4 more intimate, and complicated books.

 

I would like to read about these subjects: Biology,

Evolutionary Biology,

Marine Science,

Fisheries Biology,

Physics,

Astronomy,

Mathematics,

Chemistry,

Medical Science,

Herpetology,

and Physiology.

If you want readable popular science books rather tan textbooks;

 

Leonard Krauss, fear of physics - deals with approach of physicists rather than findings.

 

John Gribbin, stardust - just awesome, how elements are formed in stars.

 

Richard Dawkins, the anscestors tale - is basically a readable textbook about evolution. Its probably the only one of his books that is not essentially a protracted argument; i.e it assumes the reader has no particular prior stance on the subject matter.

Nothing about engineering or thermodynamics? Pfft...

that's one of the things that make me angry about education nowadays... people are clueless about important concepts such as Thermodynamics which, to be honest, are possibly more important than most fields mentioned above.

 

Anyway, on topic... for Chemistry, I'd recommend Atkins, Physical Chemistry.

 

And in case you like chemical engineering: I recommend you look up something about Thermodynamics - but my book sucks (although it's very complete), so I will not recommend you a title. I'm just saying that your list is incomplete
