Biochemistry of Love...

Featured Replies

Hello everybody!

I want to know if there is any relationship between Biochemistry and the feelings of Love for the opposite sex?

I don't know about love but I do know that I am only attracted to women who smell right. It has nothing to do with perfume or bathing, it is a very subtle thing but I know the instant I am close enough to smell them.

Start with checking out Helen Fisher but keep a healthy dose of sceptiscism. Sometimes she makes claims that haven't really been confirmed in humans, especially when it comes to oxytocin.

We use smell to identify people with a different profile of immunity genes than us, and feel attracted to them. I guess the children of such matchings have a stronger immune system.

... and are less likely to be inbred...
