Which material promotes better evaporation ?

One soaked black towel, made of 100% cotton in same test conditions as another black 'towel' made of 100% nylon; under the sun...

Which one would evaporate/dry more rapidly ?

-Or is there any other better material choice with the same texture-

1. Which towel absorbs more water? Do we assume they have equal amounts of water (in real, that is not true).

2. How is the reflection influenced by the water? Because evaporation is caused by the towel heating up. How fast it heats up is determined by: (a) the sun, same for both and (b) reflection (not the same).

3. What's the surface area of the nylon towel? Cotton generally has many small fibres, and therefore has a huge surface area (which helps evaporation). Nylon comes in different qualities.

 

4. To dry nylon, you should just shake it dry. Many synthetic clothes can be worn straight from the centrifuge (no need to dry them). Water does not have any affinity for the fibres at all.
