Does anyone know of any good freeware program for plotting scientific data ?

I use Originlab at work, where we have the license.

gnuplot?

Use R.

 

GNUPlot is also good, but rather basic.

 

Or Octave which is like matlab (and I think uses gnuplot to actually plot it's graphs)...

That's how I got used to gnuplot: I use Octave.
